Today was the final day of student teaching for me. We had a few parties, which were fun, but probably set my shaping up back a few days. Oh well.
It was a really good experience, and, as with any good experience, there were some difficult times. But I don't know if it was because it was my last day, but even those kids at whom I often wanted to whip some chalk (my dad tells me that was what his Cuban Catholic school teachers used to get kids to stop talking) were really great. It is probably because they knew they never had to see me again.
I had a number of comments over the semester on my clothes. But for some reason, the one thing that most kids (freshman mostly) noticed were that a lot of my pants were cuffed. So today in third period five or six guys turned their jean cuffs up the whole period (and one kid even cuffed his shorts). It was hilarious and also kind of touching I guess.
Next up is graduation, which is next Friday afternoon. Then a little trip to somewhere in North Carolina with my wife and parents. And then.....the long wait until I have a job. Not looking forward to that one so much.
Anyways, I'd like to say that this means I'll get a lot more blogging done here, but that's probably not true. Summer is a lot more boring to me than fall/winter when it comes to wearing clothes. I will promise that I'll try and I'll do my damnedest.
I do however, still get a good bit of blogging done elsewhere. Notice the side panel.
Strayaway Child is my place for pictures that interest or inspire me, often clothing related.
And, as if I really need another blog, I recently created Spraypaint and Ink Pens, where I throw some of the mediocre poetry I write and other quotations about writing that I find inspiring.
