Old Man: Sunday (Pumpkin) Style

Yep.

That's all I have to say about that (game).

On to happier things. The concert on Friday went really well. Over 4 grand raised for the project. Some videos with my fluting are apparently in existence, so I'll put them up when I get them (if they're any good).

This morning was nice and cold, and the first day this year I've had to break out the ice scraper for the windshield. Love it.

Hard to see, but those are the green cords.

There they are. Green PRL cords and wholecuts is my fav combo of all my shoes and pants.
Today was also the day my wife and daughter accompanied me to the Denver Downs corn maze and pumpkin patch. This was our grab. Only a buck and the perfect size for our little pumpkin.

Don't Forget

If you're in the Upstate South Carolina area tonight, don't forget to check out the Emerald Road Concert to support Go Big With God at Clemson Presbyterian Church. It's for a good cause, and you'll get to hear some great music too. Say hi if you stop by. I'm sure you'll recognize me. I'll be up at the end of the show.

Hopefully see you there.

Young Man: Waskerd - 21 Days Later

Here are some pictures of my Waskerd wallet. I love this thing. It has held up great so far. It's been through rain, sweat, fire (though not directly of course), sitting, standing, and everything in between.

I'll let the pictures do the talking.

You can see the leather has darkened a bit. You can also see the blue on the edges from my jeans (mostly RRL). I love that.

Check Derek's site out and buy something. Support a guy doing something real and substantial. The products are really great and he's a real nice guy.

Old Man: Sunday Style

Sorry this is late. I had a show I played a couple tunes in last night with Emerald Road. Super fun. Be sure to come to the benefit concert this Friday if you can. For a good cause and it's gonna be awesome.

Young Man: Gigs

On Friday, October 28th, Clemson's local Traditional Irish Music group, Emerald Road, will be playing a benefit show at Clemson Presbyterian Church, at 6:30 pm. The price is $5 per person (kids are free) at the door. All proceeds will go to benefit the Go Big With God project. GBWG is the project to completely rebuild the home of Jim Mosley, an Alabama resident whose home was destroyed in a tornado.

The program will include traditional Irish music from Emerald Road, as well as worship songs played by Emerald Road and other CPC musicians.

Perhaps of interest to the readers of this blog is that there will be a special guest: me, on flute and whistle. I'll be playing some tunes with Emerald Road. So come on by if you're in the area. You'll get some good tunes and help someone out. If you do come for the show, stick around to say hi to me. I'll be the guy with the mustache and the flute.

Old Man: Sunday Style

The Tigers pulled one out of their collective nether region last night. I wasn't able to watch the game, which was probably good for me.

This Sunday.

Cordies
Jordan's tweed
Nordstram shirt
thrift tie
LE pants
thrifted longwings

Sweet new shirt. Bowtie wearing palmetto.

Words to live by.

If you notice, up top there are links to my other blogs, as well as the other blogs I used to link to. They don't update like they did before, since I can't figure out the HTML (if someone knows how to do this let me know). Hope that fixes things. If not let me know.

Don't forget to buy your Cordies. Thanks to everyone who've bought some so far.

Old Man: Sunday Style

Another fall Sunday morning without the familiar feeling of defeat. I don't really know what to do with myself. How about break out the cord jacket.

Brooks jacket
Bean shirt
PRL tie
Epaulet chinos
AE shoes

I love this tie and this square.

And the shoes. Wholecuts are awesome!

I'm thinking about changing the template back to the old one. Not even my mom liked the other one so I at least switched it to a different dynamic view. Hopefully this will work better. We'll see.

Anyways, enjoy the weekend.

Young Man/Old Man x The Cordial Churchman Cordies

Or what I like to call the collaboration of all time.

Some of you might recall seeing my paracord "croakies" in past posts. Well Andy over at The Cordial Churchman saw potential and we hooked up to start making and selling these things as part of the Cordial Churchman lineup. Needless to say, I was honored and started getting to work on my end of the bargain.

Andy certainly kept up his end, with beautiful photography, clean webstore presentation, and a proven brand cache. Hopefully the Cordies hold up to the Cordial Churchman name.

These Cordies (so named to avoid copyright infringement) are made from 550 paracord. Called 550 paracord because the test limit of the cord is 550 pounds (the military uses this for parachute rigging). So these not only look good, but they could save your life (or something else) if it came to it. Lots of people are selling paracord survival bracelets, but ours are the first paracord sunglasses retention system (that I know of). So head over to The Cordial Churchman. Buy early and buy often.

Here are some shots that didn't make the listing, but are amazing shots. When I look at some of these pictures I can't believe that I made them.

Enjoy. Let me know what you think. A big thanks to Andy and Ellie for all they did.

Young Man: Waskerd Wallets, pt. 2: The Review

Here's the review of the Waskerd wallet Derek sent me.

Derek sent me an Astoria model in a new light brown leather that isn't on the website yet. The Astoria is a three pocket folding wallet: two on the inside, one on the outside. I really like this setup because I can keep my most used cards (debit and ID) on the outside for easy access, and keep everything else on the inside. My old wallet only has one pocket, and you have to unflap it to get anything, which can be annoying.

The leather is really nice. It's a soft, sueded type leather (which surprised me), but it feels really sturdy. It's reassuring quality-wise to know that Derek makes every wallet by hand, and that he stands by all his wallets with a guarantee. I've had the wallet for half a week, so I can't make a sweeping statement about the quality or longevity of this wallet, but I have a feeling it will keep up with me.

Overall, I really love this wallet. I have no problem (so far) recommending this wallet to my readers. Derek is also a super nice guy and answers emails quickly and in a friendly manner. Enough with the talk; on to the pictures.

Here's the packaging, complete with a handwritten note. I love this kind of thing.

Even the box has the Waskerd logo stitched on it in leather. Awesome.

It just keeps getting better. Leather business card, orange cord wrapping (hopefully not for the Hokies: sorry if so Derek!)
Here's the front of the wallet, with the outside pocket.

And here are the two inside pockets.

This wallet easily holds everything that fit in my other wallet, and since it will stretch with time, it'll be able to hold even more. I'm pretty excited to see how the wallet changes colors and adapts with my use. It's a really nice wallet. Thanks so much Derek for letting me have it and review your stuff. It's been a pleasure.

If anyone wants additional pictures, let me know and I can supply them. Let me know what you guys think of this wallet.

Young Man: T-Shirts

Go Tigers! Big season so far. Still cautiously optimistic though.

My wife and daughter bought this t-shirt for me today. Best shirt ever.

A well-dressed palmetto tree.

Chicks dig guys in bow ties. *I make no claims as to the accuracy of this statement*

Awesome. Got my Waskerd wallet in the mail today (thanks Derek). I'll have a review up shortly. Enjoy the weekend.
