One of the perks of having an influential blog is all the stuff that people send to you to review or promote.
One of the pitfalls of having this blog is that almost no-one sends me stuff (except for Derek - thanks for sending me that wallet!)
However, the recent Cordies deal I offered subverted that sad tradition. Almost immediately after posting it I got an email from longtime reader Brian, who keeps the YM/OM and strayaway faith strong over on his linked-to Pinterest. He told me that he makes handmade pens, and would trade me some Cordies for a pen. Well, you can imagine how quickly I jumped on that.
Related to writing? Check.
He sent one over that had some Celtic knotting in it, in respect of my interest in Irish heritage. That's when you know you've got a pretty good fan.
Anyways, I love it, and can't stop looking at it. Here are some pictures, so you can look at it, too.
Just beautiful. And he knocked it out of the park with the knotting. As seen in this one.
Here it is with one of my many (many, many) journals. Beautiful combo.
It feels and writes very well, too. It's too pretty to carry it in my pocket every day (I use my stainless steel Embassy pen for that - it's already stood up to lots of drops and abuse), but I clipped it to my bag, for times when a more elegant pen is called for.
Thanks so much Brian. It is more than I had ever hoped for when I set up the deal.
But if anyone wants to try and top Brian, let me know. I still have plenty of extraneous Cordies to unload for other swag.
