Young Man/Old Man: Custom Cordies

Two-toned Cordies are here! These are great for gamedays. Each Cordie is reversible, one side for home and one for away.

The new Cordies have a new and improved closure setup (an easy to adjust slipknot), and a new and improved price - all Cordies are now $15!

So order some up in your school or team's colors and rep your team while also repping made in America and a small business (mine, specifically).

Thanks to everyone who has supported me in this in the past, and thanks to anyone who will support me in the future! You guys rock! Let me know if you need anything or have any questions about these.

Young Man: Botanical Gardens

The Gamecocks might have the capital, but we have the state Botanical Gardens. And it's a two minute drive from our house. Awesome.

It's probably the coolest place to take pictures. I take my camera every time and never run out of stuff to photograph.

Check it out sometime. Right next to the most beautiful campus in the country.

Old Man: Sunday Style

Sorry for the lack of Sunday Style posts this past month. Because my foot was beat up, I was wearing flip-flops to church, and I know no-one here wanted to see pictures of that. I finally found out that these shoes are gigantic enough to not put too much pressure on the cut. It's almost better though.

Getting hotter here. I was in love with that spring we had, and was hoping it would keep going. Of course not.

So it's the poplin Corbin, blue university stripe, and a madras tie.

And the huge wingtips.

Enjoy your Sundays, everyone.

Cordies Camera Straps

Finally, after getting one hundred split rings in, the Cordie Camera Strap is available for sale.

Cordies Camera Strap

Here's mine. The paracord is tested at 550 pounds, and the carabiners are each tested at 130 pounds. So I think they can handle a modern DSLR. I've even run half a mile with mine and felt fine about it.

Head over to the store and check out the specs. Let me know what you think.

Old Man: Gifts

Here is what my daughter got me for Father's day (with some help from my wife, I'm sure). They're super awesome.

Yep. Six John Le Carre books. I'm fifty pages into The Looking Glass War and can't wait to get to The Perfect Spy.

I'm the luckiest ever.

New Two-Toned Cordies

Big news here. I'll be starting to do two-toned, custom Cordies soon. I'm making some custom ones for Palmetto Shades, and figured I'd do them for you guys too. This will be a great opportunity to get some in school colors. I'll post the options when I get the rest of the cord.

But here's the prototype first run. Black and red for any UGA, USC, or Bulls fan. Since these were the first run, I'm selling them at the store for $10. There's only one set right now, so get on it while you can.

Notice that the sides are reversible (for home/away games, perhaps?). I thought they turned out wicked cool. Also trying out a new attachment system that is much easier to customize to fit sunglasses sizes.

Also, for Father's Day, all regular Cordies are priced at $15. Sale ends on Monday, or whenever I remember to change the prices. Get 'em while you can.

Young Man: Good Press

There's supposedly no such thing as bad press, but there is such a thing as good press.

Nick at Great Lakes Prep interviewed me for his "You Outta Be Reading" series. You'll read about how I got started, and my final decision on bow ties versus neck ties.

Thanks very much for the interview Nick.

Old Man: Sunday Style

Just a crop here today, featuring the Brooks tie I picked up last week.

Also featuring a goofy face.

No fuller picture on account of me gouging my foot while sliding on the longboard (I had to wear sandals - and yes Mom, I'm OK). I'll spare you a picture of that.
